Link2-GSM | Cellular Connectivity for Instruments

Link2-GSM | Cellular Instrument Connectivity

The Link2-GSM wireless device transceiver provides reliable and simple to use wireless connectivity for sensors and instruments via GSM wireless communications enabling data from remote field teams to be instantly transmitted to a central monitoring system without having the need to deploy a field based radio system.

The Link2-GSM connects directly to an instrument (compatible devices) and also uploads data from other instruments nearby connected to Link2-Mesh devices. The unit contains an integrated GPS receiver to provide location awareness of remote operations to command centers.

The Link2-GSM provides three services:

Device Server

The Link2-GSM provides a smart instrument interface that has the ability to communicate with over 70 instruments from leading manufacturers. The Link2-GSM reads and interprets important measurements, alarms, and the device status. This data is encrypted and transmitted in a low bandwidth format to compatible remote monitoring systems such as the RemoteDNA Web Portal.

Data Uplink

Typically the Link2-GSM is used to relay data from Link2-900, Link2-2.4GHz and Link2-Mesh radios using an internal 2.4GHz low power radio. The CNET serves as a hotspot for the other Link2 devices and transmits their data through a single cellular connection saving resources and money.

Location Awareness

The Link2-GSM has an integrated GPS to give location information. This provides real-time situational awareness of your remote deployment teams.

The Link2-GSM has the following external ports:

Link2-GSM PortsPower

The power port enables the Link2-GSM to be powered from an external DC 5-16V power source.

Com

The Com port is the primary device connection and supports both TTL and RS 232 serial connections up to 115200 Kbps.

Audio

The audio port can connect a headset and the Link2-GSM will give audible warnings to a user indicating alarm or status conditions.
