Link2-SensorThe Link2-Sensor wireless device transceiver provides reliable and simple to use wireless connectivity for sensors and instruments via radio communications enabling data from remote field teams to be instantly transmitted to a central monitoring system without having the need to deploy a field based radio system.

The Link2-Sensor is enclosed in an weather resistant IP65 enclosure suitable for outdoor use. The Link2-Sensor connects directly to an instrument (compatible devices)contains an integrated GPS receiver and integrated lithium ion battery for mobile deployment. The Link2-Sensor can be configured with 900MHz and 2.4GHz radios for local data reporting or an internal cellular option is available for enhanced coverage in remote locations.

Device Server

The Link2-Sensor provides a smart instrument interface that has the ability to communicate with over 70 instruments from leading manufacturers. The Link2-Sensor reads and interprets important measurements, alarms, and the device status. This data is encrypted and transmitted in a low bandwidth format to compatible remote monitoring systems such as the RemoteDNA Web Portal and Thermo ViewPoint.

Dual Radios

The Link2-Sensor can be configured with dual radios to retrieve and upload instrument data from other nearby Link2-Sensors.  Nearby radios communicate through an optional XBee radio and are uploaded to the RemoteDNA Portal either through the internal cellular radio or to remote base radio via the high power 900 MHz radio

Integrated Battery

With the integrated lithium ion battery the Link2-Sensor can serve as a device server in remote locations.  Instruments can be deployed and monitored on vehicles, mobile command units and site drop applications.

Location Awareness

The Link2-Sensor has an integrated GPS to give location information. This provides real-time situational awareness of your remote deployment teams.  GPS data can then be layered onto satellite imagery in a RemoteDNA software application to give visual device location.

The Link2-Sensor has the following external ports:

Power / Com

The power port enables the Link2-Sensor to be powered from an external DC 9-12V power source as well as provide data connectivity for RS-232 (serial) and 4to20ma.  The external power can be used to power the device continuously and/or to charge the internal lithium ion battery,

Com - RS-232 / RS-485

The dedicated Com port is pin compatible with other Link2 radios for easy interchangeability between Link2 radio transceivers.  This Com port supports RS-232 hardware handshaking (full duplex), RS-485 2-wire and RS485 4-wire.


Adds connectivity to USB based instruments. The USB port is also used to update firmware and configuration settings via a USB flash drive.
